This ruggedized 1-Wire® temperature sensor has been designed to meet the requirements of professional industrial temperature measurement in demanding environments. Based on the Dallas Semiconductor DS18B20, it is fully compliant with the 1-Wire® bus standard. The sensor element is housed in a machined 316 grade stainless steel tube that is mechanically robust and waterproof. The digital thermometer resolution can be programmed from 9 to 12-bits. An alarm function with non-volatile, user programmable upper and lower trigger points is available for applications requiring action when preset temperature thresholds are reached. The recommended operating range is 20°C to +60°C with an accuracy of ±0.5°C over the range -10°C to +60°C. For wider temperature ranges consult BFi OPTiLAS' sales team. Each digital thermometer has a unique 64-bit serial code, allowing multiple thermometers to function on the same 1-Wire® bus. For long cable runs it is recommended that an external power source is applied to VDD. For shorter cable runs the unit may be operated in "parasitic power" mode by shorting the VDD pin to GND.
